United Airlines Analyst/Sr. Analyst - International Network Planning and Scheduling in Chicago, Illinois

Please note: This position may be hired at the Analyst level or the Sr Analyst level, depending on candidate experience.

Overview

The Analyst role is responsible for evaluating the United Airlines route network and making recommendations to change the network in order to maximize margin.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial performance of market portfolio and make recommendations to improve margins

  • Forecast financial performance of potential additions to the United Airlines route network

  • Develop strategic plans for maximizing long term margin potential within assigned region

  • Work cross functionally with commercial and operating groups to ensure viability of network plans

  • Analyze fleet deployment to maximize revenue and minimize costs

  • Perform ad-hoc analyses on the profitability of United Airlines route network and fleet

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, master’s degree preferred

Knowledge/Skills - required

  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office

  • Complex problem solving through independent critical thinking

  • Quantitative analysis

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Experience

  • 2-4 years professional analytical work experience or 1 year of Aircraft Scheduling/Planning experience required

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
