Job overview and responsibilities

The Associate Scrum Master plays a key role in the definition, development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of Agile practices (with an emphasis on Scrum) within the organization. This role will support sprint planning, retrospective, and daily activities related to stand-ups and status meetings; as well as supportrelevant metrics that help the team see and understand their progress during a sprint. This role identifies and support the effort to remove impediments.

The Associate Scrum Master will help support an environment where continuous deployment/ improvement of the development process is the focus and everyone’s common goal is to deliver outstanding software as fast as possible to our customers. The Scrum Master will be responsible for assisting the continual Agile transformation and practices as well as supporting accountability and transparency across all levels of the organization.

  • Serve as a team member, responsible for supporting the adoption, implementation and sustainability of Agile processes, principles, and practices

  • Strategy and Leadership

  • Support the Agile Coaches to follow all Agile process. Be able to make decisions and independently drive any aspect of Agile rollout at a team level

  • Support hands-on team guidance, support, and team effort in a Scrum team environment

  • Support the teams' Scrum maturity to inform ongoing design decisions

  • Provide status to management teams and escalate issues to resolve impediments between internal teams and third parties, release managers, or Agile teams

  • Support collaborative partnership with key stakeholders to ensure leadership buy-in across both Business and IT - Act as a strategic partner in organizational roadmapping and Sprint Planning

  • Foster speed, innovation and encourage continuous improvement


  • Bachelor's degree

  • Proven ability in building effective partnership with diverse groups in multiple locations/environments

  • Aptitude for learning and using technology for both teaching and action research

  • 5+ years of IT experience

  • 1 - 3 years of experience as a ScrumMaster, Product Owner or Agile Coach

  • 1 - 3 years Experience working on mixed methodology program (Scrum interfacing with Waterfall from a dependency perspective)

  • Experience leading proper Scrum cermonies including Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, and Showcases

  • Must be able to build trust and earn respect at all levels within the company

  • Communicative and facilitative - Must be able to communicate well with all levels of the organization from Scrum team members to executives

  • Influence employees at all levels

  • Scrum practices

  • Familiarity with common Agile practices

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
