Team Overview

Our Analytics Products group is a global team energetic about using data to develop actionable insights across United Airlines. We partner with subject matter experts across the business to build solutions for a wide variety of commercial and operations use cases. As a team, we focus on projects that drive strong financials, deliver improved customer experiences, and support employee engagement.

Job Overview

As Lead – Enterprise Data Analytics, you will partner with enterprise teams (e.g. Loyalty, Network Planning, Contact Centers, Customer Experience, Tech Ops) to define and execute data analytics initiatives that drive incremental revenue and/or customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for identifying and analyzing opportunities and executing delivery of strategic analyses and analytical products. This role will require you to stretch your strategic thinking and analytics skills while maintaining a strong client focus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop analytical solutions in collaboration with team members across the enterprise

  • Be accountable for high quality deliverables by understanding and balancing the competing demands for project scope and time

  • Manage relationships with enterprise teams and create a competitive advantage by identifying and developing advanced analytics solutions

  • Perform ad-hoc strategic analyses using strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Lead enterprise projects and manage frequent communication to key stakeholders

  • Actively seek opportunities to innovate by using non-traditional data and new analytics methodologies

  • Design, plan, and manage the build of analytical products from end to end, optimizing for user experience and adoption

Required

  • Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field and/or equivalent work experience required

  • Required Skills

  • Strong understanding or experience with some, if not most, of the following: SQL, R, Python or other database interface tools and languages

  • Experienced in using visualization tools (ex. Spotfire, Tableau, Microsoft BI)

  • Exhibit data intuition by applying analytical and critical thinking skills to open ended business problems

  • Must be a team focused individual and a strategic thinker

  • Must have high energy and possess a positive attitude

  • Self-motivated – If you don’t know the answer, you’ll reach out and find somebody who does

  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn and develop technical and soft skills

  • Experience leading project teams to build high quality analytical tools and strategic analyses

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to build analytical products using open source tools (HTML/CSS, JavaScript) preferred

  • Product management experience (from inception to product adoption) preferred

  • Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in an analytical role required

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
