Job overview and responsibilities

United is looking for an IT Manager to manage Oracle ERP (Finance Modules) with a team of 3-4 people. The Manager will own the IT strategy and provide oversight of all aspects of Oracle ERP technology to drive continual operational, technology and process improvement. The primary purpose of the Manager Applications Development position is to lead a team in the development, implementation and maintenance of business and technical systems. This role is accountable for the evaluation and implementation of standards and procedures, which support the enterprise’s application infrastructure. Interacts directly with the client and support team members across the IT organization. Ensures projects/programs are completed within the committed time and budget and are integrated with other software applications. This manager is accountable for maximizing the productivity of the applications staff and the maintainability of software systems, keeps abreast of new technologies, incorporates those technologies when appropriate and motivates others to utilize them. This manager tasked with understanding all of the operating policies and procedures of the enterprise. The Manager Applications Development has decision making responsibility within the discipline and escalates any issues, which cannot be resolved to the Managing Director Applications Management.

  • Should be able to lead development teams to deliver high quality products

  • Capable of managing the project budget in detail, actuals and forecast

  • Works with the team to define testing, training, cutover and failover plans

  • Creates strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning

Other Key Duties, Responsibilities and Activities

  • Should be able to work with various teams to identify and solve issues within the project

  • Prepares or participates in preparing team communications, organizational communications and steering committee presentations

  • Reduce cost and support innovation at the enterprise level by managing business requirements and lead the functional/technical design, prototyping and process design stages of Oracel EBS implementations

  • Engage with business users and projects teams in comprehending project scope, requirements and functions introduced, new process and data flows and provide cross functional project leadership

  • Mentor team members as needed or required; conducts peer review of key deliverables

Organizational Effectiveness / People:

  • Provide leadership by establishing department and individuals goals

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining an overall sourcing plan which includes creative sourcing options and alternatives to ensure supply capacities meet work demand, role and skill set requirements and cost objectives

  • Responsible for assessing and recommending improvements to the organization structure, roles and responsibilities

  • Responsible for department and individual performance assessments and improvement plans.

  • Responsible for coaching, counseling, assisting employees to develop individual career development and training plans.

Required

  • Must have thorough understanding of ERP finance Modules ( GL, AP, AR, Cost Accounting, Projects…etc)

  • Must have knowledge in Unix scripting

  • Proven experience implementing ERP programs successfully.

  • 3+ years of leading development teams

  • 3+ years of IT ERP Implementation experience

  • 3+ years of experience implementing/operating ERP Systems

  • Must be able to use basic SQL for producing analytical data when looking at solution

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Effective negotiation/influencing skills

  • Strong presentation, organization and problem solving skills

  • Ability to build solid relationships in teams, with peers and management

  • Strong ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines

  • Experience in Analytical tools is plus (Ex: OBIEE, Spotfire, Palantir)

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field required
