Product Manager

The Product Manager plays a critical role in managing the evolution of our core customer technology platforms, including our Passenger Services System (PSS – SHARES). This leadership role is critical for keeping up with industry trends, managing the delivery and transformation roadmap for our core PSS capabilities and working on guiding initiatives with scoping, business analysis and business case development.

Responsibilities:

Product Management

•Lead or participate in the definition of product strategy

•Maintain effective working relationships with key business & technology leaders, industry experts and partners

•Be the primary interface for key business and technology stakeholders for assigned products

•Establish and manage the product roadmaps

•Manage ongoing updates to product roadmaps and communications across multiple key stakeholders

•Define and maintain product KPIs including key business and financial metrics

Innovation

•Monitor and triage the competitive landscape to influence product evolution

•Participate in key industry forums - be an advocate for United in influencing their direction

•Oversee the innovation agenda for assigned products

Project Delivery

•Manage business case development for strategic initiatives

•Document scope and conduct business analysis for strategic initiatives

•Manage scope and delivery roadmap of strategic initiatives – in alignment with product priorities

•Lead the analysis & design phases of strategic initiatives, as needed

Required Skills and Experience:

•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business related field, and/or equivalent work experience

•In-depth knowledge of one or more PSS functional areas – reservations, inventory, departure management

•Expert knowledge of airline systems, functionality, and industry standards

•Expert knowledge of product management, business case development and business analysis

•Expert problem-solving, listening, written and verbal communication, and decision-making skills

•Effective influencer and ability to work with large cross-functional teams to manage, support and solve problems

•Ability to understand, communicate and engage effectively with multiple stakeholders at all levels

•Proven skills in project planning, roadmap development and detailed status reporting

•Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
