United Airlines Senior Analyst - Distribution Modernization in Chicago, Illinois

The Senior Analyst - Distribution Modernization is responsible for contributing to the execution of United's distribution strategy, including development and deployment of modernized message standards and processes across the distribution chain. The Senior Analyst will manage our NDC and Corporate Direct products by assisting with documenting requirements, managing agency and commercial agreements, implementation projects, and leading user acceptance testing with regards to the deployment of United’s modernized distribution capabilities. In addition, the Senior Analyst will occasionally assist with creating models and business cases to help guide the decision-making process on pursuing any new strategic distribution initiatives.


  • Improve United’s ability to better sell products to travelers through all channels, particularly third party channels

  • Collaborate with Sales in performing Business Development tasks to help draw agencies to our modern distribution capabilities

  • Lead both internal and external projects to bring modern distribution capabilities (including NDC) to market, including the drafting of requirements, developing test cases, and performing testing

  • Supporting agencies, aggregators and GDSs with questions throughout the implementation process

  • Assist with and/or lead commercial negotiations with third parties relative to the implementation of modern distribution capabilities

  • Work with team to build compelling business cases to pursue distribution initiatives which more effectively utilize United's intermediary portfolio through the use of next generation technology and processes

  • Perform detailed analysis of cost and revenue implications of distribution through United’s direct channels and through third parties

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis related to initiatives that may alter or impact United's distribution strategy

  • Forecasting & Analysis - deliver accurate forecasts and analyses related to distribution



  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 2 years Distribution, Sales, eCommerce, Consulting, Marketing or similar background with a focus on project management

  • Direct experience with contract negotiations, from beginning stages through final execution

  • Significant experience with online travel agencies and metasearch engines and knowledge of corresponding data sources

  • Experience leading cross functional teams to deliver on time and under budget results

  • Strong communication and analytical skills required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point

  • Familiarity with SQL and/or relational database queries

  • Some International Travel

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
