Job overview and responsibilities

The role requires a strong understanding of marketing & advertising, with a deeper understanding of paid search. To be successful in this role, must have experience setting up, optimizing and reporting out on paid search campaigns. Must be a data driven paid search specialist with working knowledge of other digital channels such as display and social advertising. Must also be a trusted touch point with our internal cross-functional teams, platform, and agency partners regarding campaign strategy and performance. Incumbent will be hands-on-keyboard, launching all United’s paid search campaigns while coordinating, as necessary, with platform and agency partners.

  • Develop, launch, optimize and report out on paid search campaigns focused on driving ROI and site traffic

  • Build reporting and dashboards for paid search specific campaigns and initiatives using Google Ads and Google Analytics

  • Build out test and learn plans in the paid search space with a focus for innovation and continuous improvement

  • Partner with analytics teams, internal and external, to dive deeper into performance beyond platform metrics (data warehouse, attribution)

  • Help implement and trouble-shoot marketing technologies, including advertising pixels, 3rd party tags and parameter tracking

  • Project manage other Digital Marketing campaigns in social media as well as display.


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ years of experience building, optimizing, and reporting out on paid search campaigns in Google Ads and/or Bing Ads platforms

  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Apple Search Ads, Campaign Manager

  • Conducting A/B testing paid search

  • 3+ years of experience managing campaigns in Google Ads and/or Bing Ads platforms

  • Computer skills

  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel usage

  • Paid search landscape and bidding platforms

  • A collaborative teammate and self-starter with the knack to pivot in a constantly evolving environment

  • Passionate about marketing, digital media, paid search, technology, and the travel industry

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Creating dashboards using data from Google Adwords and Google Analytics

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • Masters Preferred

  • Airline or transportation industry experience

  • Big Query

  • Ability to prepare executive level presentations
