Job overview and responsibilities

Lead Cargo Ops CI & training including process improvement, technological and infrastructure solutions, and training design/implementation ($6-$10M in annual IT capital projects). United Cargo generates $1.3B in revenue annually; this position is instrumental to enabling future growth via key operational functions. Direct end to end multi-million-dollar technology investments, training, and review/design/implementation of continuous improvement initiatives with a heavy focus on cross-departmental collaboration and both internal/external teaming. The right candidate will have success in directing CI, IT and related initiatives, project management, strong leadership qualities, the ability to quickly learn and adapt, drive solutions on time and within budget and collaborate with multi stakeholders including senior leadership.

  • Lead team of 5 high powered employees responsible for driving CI, IT, infrastructure and Training results

  • Direct multi-million dollar IT projects through full PMLC process

  • Drive strategic decisions based on emerging technologies with AO, CRE, GSE, and outside vendors

  • Devise, create, and implement strategy continuous improvement initiatives for cargo operations

  • Design/implement training programs to ensure compliance/safety & support CI and IT initiatives


  • Bachelors Degree in Business, IT, or related field

  • Leading high powered teams, collaboration, influencing stakeholders, project management, continuous improvement, training design/implementation, business case development

  • Advance knowledge of MS Office productions including MS Project, presentation-including Sr. Mgmt, analytical, driving results

  • 5+ years Project Management experience

  • 2 years managing IT/Technology projects

  • 3 years managing high powered team

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • Advanced degree

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification

  • Logistics, Finance and Business experience

  • Project Mgmt certification
