The Sr. Manager – Network Performance Analytics is responsible for leading a team focused on increasing network financial performance through determining insights and strategies from internal profitability data, competitive profitability modeling and commercial data exploration.

The role is also responsible for supporting new route launches through leading cross functional campaigns with workgroups such as Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing and Scheduling.

The successful candidate will combine strong analytical aptitude with an ability to work and lead cross functionally, resulting in quantifiable financial gains for United Airlines.


  • Research and analyze internal profitability trends to measure Network performance

  • Deliver monthly and quarterly profitability reporting for all of Network Planning

  • Own and develop models that estimate competitive profitability at a route level, and analyze model results to develop appropriate Network actions

  • Compile and examine industry data to create strategic recommendations and identify opportunities that increase margin performance

  • Collaborate with work groups in and outside of International Network Planning to ensure new routes meet and exceed business case forecasts

  • Present findings and recommendations in slide format to various levels of leadership, including C-level


  • At least 3 years prior experience in Consulting, Revenue Management, Network Planning, Economics and/or Data Analysis required

  • Prior direct report experience preferred


  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Master's degree in Business or related area preferred

Knowledge/Skills - required

  • Complex problem solving through independent critical thinking

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment

Knowledge/Skills - preferred

  • Knowledge of Network Planning tools (Schedule Manager, Profit Manager, Cost Modeling, etc.) and data sources (MIDT, OAG, Ticketing, etc.) plus working knowledge of MS desktop preferred

  • Advanced Excel/Access, VBA, SQL, and/or SAS preferred

  • Mastery of data visualization suites such as Tableau or Spotfire preferred
