We are looking for a talented and experienced Technical Project Manager to drive delivery of key initiatives. Currently, these include modernization of our PSS (passenger service system) system that runs mission-critical and highly complex modules (such as Inventory, Reservations, and the Day-of-Departure customer processes), application security initiatives, operationalizing AI/ML models, Cloud-based enterprise logging and migration of applications to the AWS Cloud.

Required

  • In This Role, You Will

  • Work with Software Engineers, Developers, business groups and DevOps professionals across the United enterprise to orchestrate the creation of high-quality distributed system software

  • Coordinate people and processes to deliver initiatives on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to objectives.

  • Manage relationships with stakeholders and project leadership

  • Collaborate with project team members to identify and resolve issues.

  • Establish effective project communication

  • Prepare status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information

  • Facilitate organizational change, manage the dependencies, and address any project- or organizational-level issues and risks that affect the project delivery

  • Drive best practices and engineering excellence

Knowledge and Skills

  • 5+ years of project management experience. Demonstrated ability to drive work with agile teams. Experience managing large, complex, mission-critical software projects

  • Ability to bring together geographically dispersed, collaborative project teams of various sizes

  • Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships

  • Excellent and effective communication skills – both written and verbal. Experience preparing and presenting decks to executive-level stakeholders

  • High level understanding of software delivery process, DevOps, .Net / .Net Core and AWS technologies, to be conversant with the engineering teams

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft tools, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, TFS and / or Jira

  • Airline industry knowledge is a plus

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Education

  • BS/BA, preferably in a technical field or equivalent experience, education, or training
