Job overview and responsibilities
The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for consultation to the internal and/or external customer. The Sr. Business Analyst possesses expertise in the customer area he/she supports (Flight Operations and Inflight Systems) with technical understanding of the business unit’s systems, capabilities, and respective technologies. The Sr. Business Analyst analyzes customer processes and requirements, and prepares specified project documentation according to UAL IDF standards. Assists in business process redesign as needed. Maintains communication with customer and team members and promotes a team environment.
Works on multiple complex projects that require subject matter business domain expertise
Independently document requirements including user stories (use cases), complex workflow models and process maps
Facilitate the resolution and root cause of questions and issues
Understanding of business principles (i.e. Flight Operations and Inflight Crew Operations)
Facilitate meetings with Technology and Business Leaders to develop and prioritize requirements
Works independently and provides direction, tools, and process support to less senior employees
Required
BS/BA, preferably in Information Technology or Business or equivalent experience, education, or training
6 or more years IT and/or business experience, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training
3 or more years of business analysis experience
Completed multiple projects involving the creation or enhancement of applications
Business Acumen – Involves understanding and ability to apply business domain knowledge to defining requirements and in designing solutions that meets the need of the Business
Industry Solution Knowledge - Involves having a conceptual understanding of IT applications supporting the airline industry, their primary user functions, and the supporting technology platform as a basis for delivering robust and reliable solutions
Communication Skills - The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably at the right level
Integrity and Trust - Involves being widely trusted, being seen as a direct, truthful individual, can present the unvarnished truth in an appropriate and helpful manner, keeps confidences, admits mistakes, and doesn’t misrepresent him/herself for personal gain
Teamwork - Involves working well in a collaborative setting, supporting work team by volunteering for and completing assignments, acting as a positive team member by contributing to discussions, developing and maintaining both formal and informal relationships enterprise-wide, defines success in terms of the entire team through mentoring and knowledge transfer

Manage - Help drive the priority of requirements and issues, while managing conflicts and facilitating compromise to help meet business expectations

Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
