Human Resources

The Human Resources team helps attract and recruit diverse talent, and works to provide employees with competitive benefits, leadership resources and the support to be successful at United.


Oversee all HR activity for a cluster of countries within a Region: HR regional strategy, senior leader coaching, compensation planning, labor relations, employee relations, employee engagement, benefits administration, interviewing/staffing at local levels.

Work location to be based in Europe/UK - the preferred work location is London

Partnering w/ Business leaders

  • Working with the Regional Division leads on understanding the business needs and formulating HR strategies/activities accordingly

  • HR functional execution (ie.: corporate strategies, implementation of programs, comp planning, vendor review, benefits benchmarking, employee counseling)

  • Formulating and executing the people-related plans for the region to drive engagement, efficiency and leadership growth

  • To include: labor and Works Council consultation, staffing plans, communication, compensation planning which aligns to the Atlantic business strategy

Team leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of 13 HR professionals across multiple countries in the Atlantic region

Policy/procedural management/Employee Relations

  • Execute corporate policies in all countries in the geography; update any procedures/practices in accordance with the new organization; partner with business leaders and Country HRMs on employee issues and communication

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.


  • BA/BS required


  • PHR/SPHR or professional HR certification preferred


  • Strong relationship building ability, conflict management proficiency, problem solving, baseline knowledge of labor relations, background in HR policy/practices required

  • Knowledge on labor union practices, compensation programming, adult learning preferred

  • Fluency in a secondary language preferred


  • 10+ years in HR-related field (generalist, labor specialist, org dev.); must have experience interfacing with senior leadership; have experience working cross-culturally and with diverse business partners required

  • Leading a team of HR professionals who are geographically dispersed


  • Must be legally authorized to work in Europe without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
