Technical Operations is the maintenance, repair and overhaul division of United. The department includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.
Job overview and responsibilities
Responsible for supporting the part attributes of over 400,000 unique aircraft parts, while working to maintain internal service level agreements with various stakeholder groups. Technical Operations Inventory Master Data is closely tied to Inventory Management and Supply Chain. The work that Inventory Master Data performs helps the greater supply chain ensure optimal productivity of inventory in support of United Airlines’ vast network of spare aircraft parts.
Setup new aircraft parts in inventory control system
Analyze engineering documents to ensure proper part setup
Perform computer transactions to setup part attributes
Maintain inventory part attributes in inventory control system
Perform computer transactions to alter aircraft part attributes
Interface with various stakeholder groups
Connect over phone or email to confirm details of proper computer transactions and aircraft part attributes to ensure records and inventory control systems have been maintained
Looking at historical activity for root cause corrective actions and best practices for processes
Brainstorm and develop strategic tools to improve overall role group
This position is offered on local terms and conditions within United’s wholly owned subsidiary United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.
BS/BA degree in related field of expertise or equivalent experience
Strong communication skills with an in-depth knowledge of spreadsheet functions, data mining tools and techniques, and financial concepts
Must be fluent in English and Hindu (written and spoken)
Ability to read and understand Engineering Documents
Required Computer Skills: SQL, Macro Scripting, Advanced Excel, Microsoft Office suite, ERP/MRP Legacy System Experience
A minimum 1-2 years’ experience required in fields of Supply Chain Inventory
Advanced degree may be substituted for non-leadership experience
Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Computer Skills: SAS Enterprise Guide, VBA coding, FileMaker Pro Experience
